I’m Kristen Harper and Harmony Acupuncture is my private practice.
My path to becoming a licensed acupuncturist evolved from my love of animals as well as my interest in natural healing and medicine. I worked and trained as a veterinary technician for 14 years with experience in emergency medicine, surgery, oncology and routine veterinary care. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from the University of Maryland, College Park. Later, I chose to attend graduate school at Bastyr University to study acupuncture. Following graduation, I started practices for both human and animal acupuncture in Colorado and the state of Washington. In 2003, I moved back to my home state of Maryland and completed the requirements to become a Certified Animal Acupuncturist.
I am a Licensed Acupuncturist and Certified Animal Acupuncturist in the State of Maryland. I am a 2001 graduate of Bastyr University, with a Master of Science degree in Acupuncture.
The focus of my treatment approach is in providing acupuncture treatments that focus on overall health and well-being. I primarily utilize Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), but also incorporate some of my training in 5 Elements when appropriate.
My specialty is treating pain, stress, hormonal imbalances, insomnia, weight loss and allergies.
I also have experience treating addictions, preparation and recovery from surgery, arthritis and emotional disorders, among others.
